I LOVED the Sure Fit Diaper. I have been using it since my newborn was just a week old and it gives a great fit on a newborn. It was by far the best fitting diaper I owned for a newborn and I even have sized small diapers I was using as well. I love the hemp insert as it was sewn in separate pieces and connected at the ends so it dries much quicker but is still super absorbent and I don’t have to dig and match pieces. I also love that this diaper snaps on the side! This was a great diaper for us and we haven’t had any leaks!

This blogger also had some very constructive feedback for our One Step Diaper that we appreciate. Our note : We had originally tested this product with a larger hook and all our testers really liked this product. Then when we made samples for our Blogger Mom reviews and we decided to make a smaller hook (for various reasons, for example, it is quieter for the newborn when you open and close it). Anyway that was a mistake and we realized it as soon as we got the samples. So we have already changed this product in our production line and you will be getting the new , improved One Step diaper when you order.

Cloth diaper addiction: Do you have it? I do ! and Sage Diaper provided a huge fix for me. I am loving their Sure Fit™ pocket diaper. I’ve never seen a diaper before that can be a pocket, or an All In Two. There are two choices of diaper inserts. I chose the Snap It in Micro Terry and I LOVE it. I would love to try the hemp diaper as well. This diaper is easy to wash, easy to use, and to top if off, it’s adorable! I know you won’t be disappointed with Sage Cloth Diapers! What soft, squishy diapering fluffiness! I love this (Sure Fit™ pocket) diaper. I have used it every wash cycle for a couple months now, and it is holding up beautifully. Best of all, Gracie is a hefty 24 pounds and there is still room for her to grow in the size 2. Even though she has tons of room to grow they are still snug on her hips without squishing her legs……It fits great, it is absorbent, it dries fast and it has held up to tons of washing without looking worn. BONUS-you have the choice of using their Hemp-Organic cotton or Micro Terry with fleece top inserts. Just snap them in, no folding needed.

Introducing Sage Diaper: A Wiser Way to Cover Your Baby’s Bottom

A Message From Sage Diaper (Formerly Diaperaps) Founder and CEO Rachael Flug

WelcomeIn 1983, when my husband and I founded Diaperaps, everyone told us we were crazy and that cloth diapers were a thing of the past. But we were convinced that natural diapers were better for babies and the planet. We wanted to make it easier for parents to choose cloth and so we invented a diaper cover that would revolutionize cloth diapering by eliminating pins and rubber pants. We were (thankfully) proved right.

Just to give you a quick overview of our past contributions in this field:

*I was the first to use PUL in a reusable diapering product, paving the way for a whole new generation of cloth diapering products. We were also the first to add leg gussets and to have an umbilical cut-out.

*Our diaper covers were the first to be sold in national stores, going into JC Penney’s in 1988.

*My husband was founder and chair of the Committee on Health and the Environment of the National Association of Diaper Services. He edited the Lehrberger Report, which documented the impact of Disposable Diapers on the waste stream and brought the issue into environmental consciousness.

The very first letter we sent to parents back in 1985 summed up the reason we founded our company:

“The beauty of the diapering choice before you is that you can make a difference. You can make a difference in how much you consume and what example you set for your children. You can teach them, from their first day, the value of caring for the earth and dealing with waste in a responsible way.”

Sage-Diaper.ColorSince then we have seen many ups and downs in the cloth diaper movement. Today, there is more interest than ever in natural alternatives in diapering. I have spent the past two years focusing my attention on product development to see if, out of my long experience, I could offer parents products that would combine Simplicity, Versatility and Reliability in one diapering line (and be made in the USA).

I believe I have succeeded, and so I have renamed our company:  Sage Diaper A Wiser Way to Cover Your Baby’s Bottom

A new baby . WOW. I can remember those first weeks as though they were yesterday instead of years ago. You think you are prepared but you’re not. That’s the beauty of it , you really learn to live in the moment. This is not to discourage preparing (which is my nature ) but to encourage acceptance and going with the flow.

One gentle and simple activity which anyone can do, is singing a lullaby to your newborn. I remember rocking away with babe in arms and the lights turned off, and only a little candle burning softly on a nearby table. As I looked upon her sleeping and glowing little face, suddenly a song that I had just made up, came rolling out of me. I am many things, but definitely not a singer. It didn’t matter.

I can still remember the words and the simple little tune. And I swear she smiled as I sang. The softly spoken words of a poem or the made up songs we call lullabies… when infused with your warmth of love, forms a beautiful canopy around this gentle little soul.

So in honor of the simple beauty of a poem , we will be giving away an Organic Poetry Receiving Blanket this month.

We will randomly select someone who posts the name ( and/or words ) to a favorite Poem or Lullaby before June 30 on our Facebook Page and send them a Organic Poetry Receiving Blanket. This is really no ordinary receiving blanket- and is made from softest organic terry velour.

There is a reason why we insist that our blankets are made with Certified Organic Cotton: it is the purest thing you can put next to your baby’s skin.  Organic cotton is grown and processed without using any pesticides, bleaching chemicals or formaldehyde.  My husband and I believe so strongly in our mission to provide your baby with a your baby with a truly organic, green, healthy nursery.  We have gone through extraordinary lengths to test, examine, research and analyze all the products that we carry and want to highlight the Organic Poetry Receiving Blankets.

What I love the most about these blankets is the fabric.   The feel is so incredibly soft against the skin and the design is so simple and clean.  We chose to carry this product because we appreciate the fact it is made from the softest organic terry velour and the poems are silk screened from vegetable dyes.  It was also created by a company whose story is so similar to ours…..a mother who was inspired by the birth of her daughter.   She struggled to find products on the market that met her expectations, so she launched her own company.

Back in the day (1976) when I had my first home birth, it was way before home births became popular. I used cloth diapers before there was a green revolution. And I even stopped using teflon pans before it was discovered that this coating was toxic. So I have always been just a little bit ahead of the times and the news. This doesn’t mean that I am always right but I have great instincts and I do a lot of research.
I have always tried to have my work and my values support each other. This is why I started the Diaperaps company.
